Pehli Baat is a digital news, current-affairs, community and participation platform. The platform may provide local, regional and national news, user-generated news, photographs, videos, community information, civic complaint services, location-based information, Ganpati Competition and other competitions, festival and cultural activities, and other digital services.

Some features may be available only in selected locations.

By accessing or using Pehli Baat, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, applicable laws and applicable platform rules. Users must use the service responsibly and lawfully.

Certain features require registration. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and authentication information.

You must not:

• Share OTPs with unauthorized persons.
• Access another person's account.
• Create fraudulent accounts.
• Impersonate another person.
• Attempt unauthorized access.
• Misuse account functionality.

Pehli Baat may allow users to submit news and local information. The news-upload facility is available only in selected locations and may not be available to all users.

By submitting news, you confirm that:

• You have the necessary rights to submit it.
• You have not knowingly infringed another person's copyright.
• You are not knowingly submitting fabricated information.
• You are not intentionally misleading users.
• Your submission does not knowingly violate applicable law.

Pehli Baat may review, edit, format, summarize, translate, categorize, publish, reject, restrict or remove submitted content.

Users may upload photographs and videos for news, civic complaints, community activities, competitions, Ganpati Competition and other supported activities. You must have the necessary rights or permissions to upload such content.

You must not upload:

• Copyright-infringing material.
• Private information without authorization.
• Illegal content, sexually explicit content or child sexual abuse material.
• Hate content, threats or malware.
• Fraudulent material or content intended to deceive users.
• Content that harasses or targets another person.

You retain ownership of content that you legally own.

By uploading content to Pehli Baat, you grant Presslink Media/Pehli Baat a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license, to the extent reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, moderate and promote the service. This may include the right to host, store, reproduce, format, edit, translate, summarize, categorize, publish, display, distribute, communicate and promote your submitted content through Pehli Baat and associated digital channels.

This license does not transfer ownership of your content to Pehli Baat. You remain responsible for ensuring that your content does not violate third-party rights.

Pehli Baat respects copyright and intellectual property rights. Original content created or legally owned by Pehli Baat/Presslink Media may include original news reports, articles, photographs, videos, graphics, infographics, thumbnails, application design, logos, branding and other original material.

Unauthorized copying, reproduction, republication, commercial exploitation or redistribution of protected Pehli Baat content may constitute infringement. Nothing in these Terms is intended to prevent a use expressly permitted under applicable law.

Some news items displayed through Pehli Baat may contain or reference thumbnail images or other material originating from or associated with third-party news websites or publicly available sources. Such material may be used where we have permission, a license, authorization, another lawful basis or an applicable legal exception.

Pehli Baat does not claim ownership of third-party copyrighted material merely because it is displayed or referenced through the platform. Copyright and other intellectual-property rights remain with the respective owners. The fact that an image is publicly available on the internet does not automatically mean that it is free to use. Indian copyright law contains specific statutory exceptions, including fair dealing for reporting current events and current affairs, but whether a particular use qualifies depends on the facts and applicable law.

If a rights holder believes that a thumbnail, photograph, video or other material has been used improperly, they may contact us. We may investigate and, where appropriate, remove, replace, restrict or modify the disputed material.

Copyright owners or authorized representatives may submit complaints to mail@pehlibaat.com. Please provide:

• Your name and contact information.
• Description of the copyrighted work.
• Location or URL of the disputed material.
• Evidence of ownership or authorization.
• Explanation of the alleged infringement.
• Any other information reasonably necessary to investigate.

We may request additional information, and may remove, restrict, replace or modify disputed content while investigating a complaint. False or misleading complaints may have legal consequences.

If you believe that a news report published through Pehli Baat contains factual errors, incorrect or misleading information, incorrect photographs or videos, privacy concerns, defamatory material, copyright concerns or other significant issues, please contact mail@pehlibaat.com. Please include the article title, URL or screenshot and explain the concern clearly.

We may investigate the complaint and, where appropriate, correct, update, restrict, remove or otherwise modify the relevant content. A complaint does not automatically require removal of content. Decisions may depend on the facts, available evidence, applicable law, editorial considerations and platform policies.

Pehli Baat may use artificial intelligence and automated technology for selected news content and selected languages, including news summaries, translation, headlines, formatting, categorization, language conversion and editorial assistance.

AI-assisted content may contain errors, omissions, translation mistakes or inaccuracies. Pehli Baat does not guarantee that every AI-assisted summary or translation is completely accurate or independently verified. Pehli Baat may review, edit, correct, label, restrict or remove AI-assisted content.

Pehli Baat aims to provide timely and useful news information. News may come from journalists, reporters, contributors, users, government sources, agencies, public sources, other media organizations and third-party publications.

We do not guarantee that every news item is complete, accurate, current or error-free. News may change as new information becomes available. Users should independently verify important information before relying on it for legal, financial, medical, safety or other significant decisions.

Pehli Baat may provide a civic complaint/reporting feature. This feature is currently operational only in selected locations. Users may submit information about local civic issues, including a description of the issue, photographs, videos, location information and other relevant information.

Submitting a civic complaint does not guarantee action by any municipal corporation, government department, public authority, police authority, utility provider or other organization. Pehli Baat may receive, review, categorize, publish or forward complaints where the relevant feature permits. Users must not knowingly submit false, fraudulent or deliberately misleading complaints.

Pehli Baat may organize or facilitate Ganpati Competition, as well as other competitions, contests, campaigns, festival activities, cultural activities and community events. Participation may be subject to separate competition-specific rules, which may specify eligibility, age requirements, registration, competition period, submission requirements, judging criteria, voting procedures, winner selection, prizes, verification, disqualification, prize distribution, content usage and other competition conditions.

Participants must provide accurate information and must not use fraudulent methods. Pehli Baat may disqualify a participant if we reasonably believe that the participant has violated competition rules, submitted false information, used fraudulent methods, manipulated voting or participation, submitted unauthorized content, violated copyright or other rights, or attempted to unfairly influence the result.

Pehli Baat may modify, postpone, suspend or cancel a competition where reasonably necessary due to technical, operational, legal, safety or other circumstances. Competition-specific rules may supplement these Terms & Conditions.

• Commit unlawful activities, spread malware or commit fraud.
• Harass or threaten people, promote violence or spread hate.
• Impersonate another person.
• Infringe copyright or violate privacy.
• Submit fraudulent civic complaints or knowingly false information.
• Manipulate competition results, voting, advertising activity or application systems.
• Attempt unauthorized access or interfere with application operation.

Pehli Baat may use human moderators, automated systems, AI-assisted tools and user reports to review user-generated content. We may remove, restrict, reject, edit or disable content, and suspend or terminate accounts, where reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, applicable law, safety requirements, intellectual-property rights or platform policies.

Google Play requires apps with user-generated content to have clear Terms of Use, require users to accept those terms before creating content, and provide appropriate in-app reporting and blocking functionality.

Where applicable to user-generated content and user interactions, Pehli Baat may provide mechanisms allowing users to report content, or report or block other users. Users are encouraged to report content that violates these Terms or applicable law. We may investigate reports and take appropriate action.

Pehli Baat may display advertisements through Google AdMob and potentially other advertising services. Users must not intentionally click advertisements, generate artificial impressions or otherwise manipulate advertising activity for the purpose of increasing advertising revenue. Attempts to manipulate advertising systems may result in account or service restrictions.

Pehli Baat may use or link to third-party services, including Google AdMob, AI providers, hosting providers, authentication services, analytics services, notification services, maps/location services and other technology providers. Third-party services may operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Pehli Baat is not responsible for the independent policies, availability or practices of third-party websites or services.

Pehli Baat may add, modify, restrict, suspend or discontinue any feature at any time. Features may be unavailable because of location, technical limitations, maintenance, legal requirements, security, operational requirements or moderation requirements. The availability of a particular feature in one location does not guarantee availability in another location.

You are responsible for your account, your actions, your uploaded content and information you submit, ensuring you have rights to uploaded content, ensuring your activity complies with applicable law, and respecting the rights and privacy of others.

Pehli Baat may suspend or terminate an account where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated violations, fraud, abuse, copyright infringement, security threats, illegal activity, manipulation of the service, or other serious violations of these Terms. We may also restrict individual features where appropriate.

Your use of Pehli Baat is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, process, store and protect information.

Pehli Baat is provided on an "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we do not guarantee that:

• The service will always be available.
• All news will be error-free.
• AI-assisted content will always be accurate.
• User-generated content will always be accurate.
• Civic authorities will respond to complaints.
• Competitions will always proceed as initially announced.
• Third-party links or content will always remain available.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pehli Baat and Presslink Media will not be responsible for losses arising from reliance on news information, user-generated content, AI-generated or AI-assisted content, third-party content or websites, service interruptions, network problems, user actions, civic complaint outcomes, competition outcomes, or unauthorized activity beyond reasonable security measures. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you may be responsible for claims, losses or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, violation of applicable law, uploaded content, copyright infringement, misuse of Pehli Baat, violation of another person's rights, or fraudulent or unlawful activity.

Pehli Baat may update, modify or revise these Terms & Conditions at any time, because of new features, new competitions, changes in services, technology changes, legal requirements, security requirements, business operations, changes in third-party services or platform requirements.

For material changes, we may provide notice through one or more appropriate methods, including in-app notification, website notice, email, application notice or other reasonable communication. The latest version will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" or "Effective Date." Users are encouraged to review these Terms periodically. Your continued use of Pehli Baat after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of India. Subject to applicable law, disputes arising in connection with these Terms, Pehli Baat or its services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Nothing in this clause is intended to restrict any mandatory legal rights or remedies available to users under applicable law.
